I assure you wholeheartedly that granite is not only gray. These stones hold every color in creation. I found colors I didn’t know were there. Gold. Cobalt. Pink. A shadow underneath a rock can therefore be orange or aqua, reflecting light off one stone onto another stone. Some blue pools of water collected there between the rocks - tiny, liquid, cobalt blue mirrors reflecting the bluest sky – a wonder.
