This painting comes from my memories as well as pictures I take of sunsets when I am on Cape Cod or anywhere near water. I love to make long, graceful brushstrokes in bold colors, maybe the way a vocalist loves to hold a note in a song. I also love sunsets themselves; that the closure of daytime hours is punctuated by a show of changing colors in the sky.
