This painting is from the artist's retreat I took to Martha's Vineyard, an island off of Cape Cod. The colors of the clay cliffs on Aquinnah beach are really exciting to paint. There are four distinct areas in this piece: cliffs, sky, sand, and water. I strive to lead the eye through the painting and to make these four areas relate to each other.
