On one of my favorite artist's retreats to Nantucket, an island off of Cape Cod, I rented a bike and traveled all over the island with my art supplies in a backpack. I sketched and painted small watercolors on my lap, and took pictures with my camera at different beaches. I chose Dionis Beach for its dramatic cliffs and dunes. I was astonished by the beautiful plant life in the undisturbed dunescape, including deep cranberry reds and rich plum purples.
