Mottled and broken brushstrokes "sculpt" the sand on the surface of the canvas, creating a visual pathway into the picture plane. Imagine walking past the blowing beach grass, making your way toward the welcoming aqua blue waves.
This piece, "Rest," sold while it was still on my easel as a work-in-progress. It is now in a collectors' home in beautiful Barbados.
