Sky and water both offer the ability to reflect light and color. With a composition delineated only by a thin horizon line, these two 'voices' symbolize balance, contrast of warm and cool tones, and harmony of interplay in the picture plane.
The inspiration for this painting comes from sunsets and sunrises over bodies of water in New England. I brought in the colors and composition from different photographs I took. I was excited to create a painting with a fresh and vibrant color palette majoring on pinks, corals, and blues with sweeping gestures.
