"Deidre Tao's paintings are an experiment in color and form, and her range in approach to depicting the layers of the landscape reveals a skillful understanding of her subject. Her use of line and rendering of light, reminiscent of American Barbizon paintings, clearly translate different moments of the day and year, resulting in works that convey a unique sense of place.
