With the landscape as a metaphor, this painting and its title, Arise, describes the feeling of rising to a challenge or possibly overcoming a difficult season. The vibrant, intense colors on the horizon line convey a sense of promise and hope. Though I painted this during the pandemic, the theme is one that is experienced at different times of life.
