These huge stones of granite from the nearby quarry lie out and sun themselves on the edge of the dark blue sea. The deep ultramarine and Prussian blues of the ocean here are dazzling, but the waves here don’t roll and crash downwards like they do on flat sand. Instead, the waves ricochet, bounce, and swish and swirl from side to side like a pinball game around the rocks, creating splashes and flashes of white, and interesting curls of colors that never, ever stop. This place made me feel like a very fleeting human part of an eternally unfolding story about time.
