Head of the Meadow
Acrylic on canvas
Hiking up the dune trail one bright morning in Truro, I was blown away by the wind whipping across the ocean meadow by the Atlantic Ocean. The grasses rippled like a wheat field, and the colorful stripes parallel to the horizon line seemed to go on for miles. Part of my inspiration for this piece came from one of my favorite artists of the Canadian Group Of Seven, Lawren Harris. My treatment of the sky is a nod to Harris.
