Lambert's Cove Beach, Martha's Vineyard
West Tisbury, Massachusetts
24x36" acrylic on canvas
roll over image to see detail
A friend recommended I go to Lambert’s Cove when I took an artist’s retreat to Martha’s Vineyard. The shady forest path leading to the beach opened up to reveal the round cove. The ocean water there was gentle and waves rolled in very slowly and quietly. I could see variations in the depth and colors of the water that made interesting shapes on the water’s surface. But even more intriguing to me was the different plant life along the path. I’m used to beach paths lined in beach grasses and wild dusty miller. This beach had foliage in in deep greens and burgundies, and pink flowers blooming from the edge of the woods to the beach, like walking through a garden on the way to the beach. This piece was shown in the StoveFactory Gallery’s Spring Show REVITALIZED, and received a positive mention in ArtScope Magazine’s review.
This original painting was part of COLORS OF THE COASTLINE at The StoveFactory Gallery. Gicl´ée prints are available, please inquire.
