Allens Pond Audobon Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Dartmouth and Westport, Massachusetts, along the Atlantic coast. This pond connects to a marsh along a walking trail leading through a meadow, field, forest, and a beach covered in small stones and crushed shells. While I painted preliminary sketches here on my French box easel, I heard the calls and songs of many birds, including one of my favorites - the red-winged blackbird.
