Picture
Deidre Tao has been painting professionally for more than three decades. Her paintings are purchased by private collectors locally, nationally, and internationally. Deidre's work is available through galleries, her studio, and her online presence.

Aside from her studio practice serving private clients, Deidre is involved and recognized in the regional art scene. She was named "Editor's Pick" by Cape Cod Art Magazine in 2021 with a feature 3-page interview and article. She was awarded as a People's Choice Winner in the 2019 Storefront Art Contest held by the City of Cambridge’s Economic Development office in partnership with the Cambridge Arts Council. In 2017, she was recognized for her blog about painting, awarded "Top 75 Painting Blogs on the World Wide Web" by Feedspot. In 2016, she was a recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant to create and present art with a small group of artists for the Community Supported Art Project through the Cambridge Arts Council.
Deidre currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Artists' Group of Charlestown, is actively involved with Cambridge Arts Council initiatives, and is an Artist Member with the Cape Cod Museum of Art.

Having majored in Visual Arts, Deidre earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 1993. She subsequently set up her private studio space in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she has been a working studio artist since 1994. She established her business name and entity, Deidre Tao Fine Art in 2015. In the fall of 2019, she expanded to a second larger studio and cooperative artist members' gallery building in Charlestown, a neighborhood of Boston. She lives in Cambridge with her husband Danny Tao and their two children.
