Deidre (Sullivan) Tao was born in Bangor, Maine and raised in Norfolk, Massachusetts. She attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 1989-1993 and graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and Painting.
In 1993 she moved to Boston to work in the field of the arts. She secured a studio space and has worked there on a variety of artistic projects and pursuits for over twenty years, narrowing her focus to fine art painting in the past decade.
Deidre has exhibited in juried, group, and solo shows and sells her work directly to collectors as a self-represented artist. Her paintings have been purchased by private collectors across the US. Most recently, Deidre was the recipient of a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to create art for a project through the Cambridge Arts Council. Deidre is a member of the Cambridge Art Association and lives in Cambridge with her husband and children.
